I'm sorry I haven't posted. I don't have anything close to a good excuse.
Samuel's regular baseball season is over, but all stars is probably coming up. Samuel is now a teenager. He grows better and better at guitar every day.
Also, I'm leaving for Redding, CA on June 14 to attend a 3.5 week long worship school. I will be blogging (with pictures and video) at this link. I will return to TX on July 9. Yes, I'm going by myself. Dad attended this school last summer, so he's given me tons of insider information. :)

Baseball
Well, hello! Melody here, and sorry for the long delay in writing. I'm going to try to keep this updated on a weekly basis, preferably on the weekends. Though I'm writing this on Monday. Sorry.
Samuel is currently in the midst of Little League baseball. He's plays pitcher, shortstop, and catcher (in that order). Last week we had a nail-biting game against Blanco that went 0-0 until the top of the fifth inning, when Blanco scored one run. We scored nothing in the bottom of the fifth, held them to nothing in the top of the sixth and arrived in the bottom of the sixth (and last) inning down 0-1.
Batter1 - walked.
Batter2 - struck out.One out. Batter1 stole second.
Batter3 - hit a double. Batter1 SCORES! Tied 1-1.
Batter4 - struck out. Batter2 stole third.Two outs.
Batter5 - walked.
Batter6 - Foul. Ball. Ball. Hit a single. Batter3 SCORES! Win! Win! Win!
Nail-biting, as I said. And that's just a sampling. :)
Quick update from the rest of us: Dad recently got a part-time worship leading position at a church (originally started by people from our home Wimberley church) in Canyon Lake. I'm busy querying my first young adult novel and writing my second. I write all about it on this blog. Mom takes care of the rest of us and steadily getting rid of all the junk that the previous owners left on our property by selling it on Craigslist. Clean yard + cash? I think yes. :)

basketball
A really quick post - Samuel is knee-deep in basketball and playing twice tomorrow in San Antonio in case anyone living there is interested in seeing a game. We're playing with a Wimberley select team, and the competition is fierce, but it's all good.

Pitching Practice + AllStar Update
Well, we played Burnet tonight and lost 4-2. :( But Samuel pitched for 3.3 innings and he pitched AWESOME. 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, 3 hits-that-made-it-to-base, and 6 pop-flies/outs-at-first. He ended up with 51 pitches. On offense he had two pop flies as well as a single (fielder's choice? I can't remember.)
This is the promised video from last week's practice. I'm sorry I don't have anything from this past game; we got to the game and I discovered we'd left the memory card at home.
Tomorrow Samuel will be in the 4th of July parade (yes, it's on the 3rd) with the remainder of his all-star team as well as the 'B' all-star team. Dad, Mom, and I will watch.

All-Star Baseball
Well, we had a nice win Monday night, 19-0 against Kingsland. It was kinda sad (Kingsland actually conceded), but we were thrilled for our team. As I type, Samuel is finishing another practice, and they play tomorrow night against Burnet (I'm pretty sure).

The Return of All-Star Baseball
Well, all-star baseball has returned. We've had one game (6/27/09) against Llano. We lost by one point; Samuel pitched 19 pitches. We have another game tonight in Fredericksburg against Kingsland. I have a video to upload from one of our practices last week of Samuel pitching, and I'll post that as soon as I finish uploading another video for something else. Oh, and we painted the car again - so there'll be pics of that soon, too!
